Clinical Trials

Losing control of Asthma can keep people from doing the things they enjoy.
If you struggle to control your asthma, even with medication, you may want to learn about the FLUTE clinical trial.
Local doctors are conducting the FLUTE clinical trial to evaluate an investigational inhaled corticosteroid drug and device combination called Fp Dry Powder inhaler.
If you are experiencing persistent, uncontrolled asthma despite the use of non-corticosteroid therapy, we hope that you will consider participating in this clinical trial.
To pre-qualify for this clinical trial, you or your child must:
- Be at least 12 years of age (or age 18 in countries that permit enrollment of adults only)
- Have a medical diagnosis of asthma
- Be on a short acting beta 2-agonist or non-corticosteroid medication for at least 3 months prior to this clinical trial
- Not have used an inhaled corticosteroid for at least 6 weeks prior to this clinical trial
Qualified participants will receive clinical trial related medical evaluations and clinical trial medication at no cost. In addition, reimbursement for travel may also be provided.

Are you taking medication but still struggling to control your asthma?
If so, you may be interested to learn more about a new clinical research study called VERSE. The study is evaluating whether an investigational medication affects the number of asthma attacks for patients with uncontrolled severe asthma.
This study may help doctors learn more about how the study medication works to treat asthma symptoms and possibly find new treatment options in the future.
You may be eligible to participate in the VERSE study if you:
- Are 18 to 75 years old
- Have been diagnosed with asthma
- Are taking an inhaled corticosteroid plus another asthma controller medication (e.g., LABA, LAMA, or theophylline)
The VERSE study will last up to two and a half years. During the first year, participants will need to attend monthly study visits to receive the investigational study medication or placebo. A placebo looks exactly like the study medication but contains no active ingredients. During the second year, all participants will continue with monthly visits. All participants will receive the investigational study medication during this period. Patients will be followed for safety for the last six months of the study.
Choosing to participate in a clinical research study is an important decision that should be made after talking with your doctors, family, and friends.
